Review Policy

I am NOT currently accepting books for review. Please check again later.

If you are an author or publicist and would like me to review a book, please read this page in its entirety before contacting me to make sure your book is something I’ll actually read and review. If I accept your request I’ll try my hardest to get the book read and reviewed in a timely manner, but I cannot guarantee that I’ll get to it.

My reviews will be posted on this blog, as well as on Goodreads and Amazon.

I do accept requests for self-published books as long as they are within the genres that I read (listed below).

Review books can be either bound physical copies or Kindle compatible ebooks (.mobi or PDF). If you would like me to review a book that is not the first book in a series, I must ask that you provide me the previous books as well. I will not read a series out of order. I will review those previous books.

Adult coloring books must be bound physical copies, preferably the complete finished version, so that I can comment on the quality and construction of the book itself. I will not review single coloring pages or printables of coloring books that will have a print version. If the coloring book will only exist as a printable electronic file, that is acceptable.

Please be aware that I do post both positive and negative reviews. If I accept your book for review and do not like it, I will still post that review. I will also post DNF (Did Not Finish) reviews if I decided to not finish the book.

In addition to the genres listed below, I am also ONLY accepting books which feature a character that is part of one or more marginalized groups. This means that at least one of the narrators or POV characters are a person of color, LGBT+, minority religion, and/or disabled. If it’s not clear from the description, tell me how your book qualifies. Coloring books are not subject to this.

Genres I Will Consider to Review:

  • Young Adult + New Adult + Adult
  • Urban Fantasy + Paranormal Romance
  • Science Fiction + Dystopian
  • Historical Romance
  • Chick Lit + Contemporary Romance
  • Erotica
  • Realistic Fiction
  • Adult Coloring Books

Genres I Will NOT Accept for Review:

  • Christian Fiction
  • Non-Fiction or Self Help
  • Children’s or Middle Grade
  • Horror
  • Mystery
  • Graphic Novels
  • Anthologies

  1. Hi Angie,
First, I want to thank you for all that you do. It’s very hard for self-published authors to get noticed, and it’s amazing people like you who who help to get that done!
Now that I’m done sucking up, 🙂 I’m writing to let you know that my own book will be on Amazon for free tomorrow, October 6th, through the 8th. I saw that you are not taking reviews right now, but it is going to be free for download and would love for you to have it for future use.
If you could share with your readers that it is available for free download this week I would greatly appreciate that as well.
The book is the first in my Above the Grave Trilogy, Ghost of a Chance. I had previously published it with great reviews on the story and not so great reviews on editing. I have recently had the book edited and am anxious to hear the new reviews!
I realize that you are more than likely a very busy woman. I greatly appreciate any effort that you put forth in helping me on my journey.

    Yours truly,
    Kara Kirkendoll

  2. Awesome! I will have the edited version of In Good Spirits, the second book, up within the next few days as well. Hopefully the final book in the series will be ready for Christmas! That’s the plan anyway!
